02/2019 – 05/2021: Communications Specialist – Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Government of Sierra Leone (Full Time)

  • Developed effective communication strategies for the Free Quality School Education Programme (FQSE).

  • Assisted the Minister and other Senior Management staff in communicating the strategies and/or messages from the management of the FQSE and the Ministry.

  • Handled requests for interviews, statements, and Press Releases on behalf of the Ministry.

  • Organized initiatives and planned events or press conferences for and on behalf of the Ministry leadership.

  • Performed “damage control” in cases of bad publicity such as the backlash against the policy of lifting ban on pregnant schoolgirls from attending regular classes.

  • Initiated, developed, and consistently published weekly ministry-wide newsletter that is called “Education Weekly.”
